What did she know about love?

She knew that it set her soul on fire,

a fire that consumed her completely, burning her into ashes.

She knew love was limitless,

but it did not set her free.

She knew love will destroy her,

leaving little shards of her being in every corner of her reality.

She knew that love gave pain, tremors, and sleepless nights,

yet her heart desired it every moment.

She also knew that loving intensely will drown her,

crumbling her essence under the shadows of illusion.

Regardless, she believed love is her destiny, a meaning to her existence.

And so, she let love consume all of her, slowly and sweetly

until she knew it all about love.

The intricacies of being in love are beyond human understanding. We are aware that it will consume us, devour us, and yet we keep falling in it – we keep failing at it. Sometimes, I cannot fathom how far we can go in love. Is it for the one we love or is it for the sake of love? The question remains.
