Habits that are killing you! You know it, yet you don’t!

How many of you are a regular smoker or drinker? How many of you are in the state of transition from being a social smoker or drinker to a regular smoker or drinker? Well, most of you might associate yourself with either of the categories. The ease of accessibility of tobacco and alcohol, combined with your mind associating these habits as a stress reduction habit is killing you. I see a lot of people make goals each year on how they will be more positive, will be more serious about going to the gym and the list goes on… what do we miss here? Are you taking enough actions to completely get out of the loop of smoking and drinking? I bet not. A mere resolution won’t help, but actions will.

Bad habits are difficult to get away with as compared to good habits and similarly good habits are difficult to acquire. Just by taking a small step towards educating yourself on the outcomes associated with smoking and drinking can be a good start. We don’t usually realise but these two habits soon become a weekly/daily ritual. Youngsters start it as early as 15 years of age these days, and by the time they reach mid 30’s or 40’s, so much damage has been done to their systems already. As a scientist studying tumours, I am only trying to spread wee bit of information necessary to incorporate the changes. Do you think I am trying to scare you off? Well yes, I am. Because the outcomes are far more scary.
